The certificate comprises three units:
Unit 1: Understanding the principles and practice of coaching supervision in organisations
Unit 2: Undertaking (group and individual) coaching supervision
Unit 3: Reflecting on your own ability to perform effectively as a coaching supervisor
The Level 7 Certificate in Coaching Supervision aims to equip professional coaches with the supervision skills and knowledge needed to practice as confident and competent coaching supervisors. It is ideal for those seeking to develop their expertise in internal or external supervision of strategic, leadership, business or management coaching within an organisation. The qualification is a gateway to accreditation but is not a licence to practice.
Supervision is an essential part of the ILM qualification and each participant is allocated 3 hours with a supervisor to be used proactively and periodically in line with individual needs and in agreement with the supervisor. Supervision can take the form of one to one meetings, telephone conversations, email or skype interaction. You need to demonstrate in your assignments that this has been completed and be able to meet the assessment criteria relating to supervision.

How is it assessed?
There are three assignments:
Assignment 1 is a written submission that asks you to demonstrate your understanding of the context in which effective coaching supervision exists and operates in an organisational context
Assignment 2 is a record of 30 hours of coaching practice you have undertaken during the programme(20 hours 1 to 1 and 10 hours of group supervision)
Assignment 3 takes the form of a critical reflective review requiring you to complete in depth and evidenced reflection and assessment of yourself in relation to the requirements and challenges of the supervisor role

Previous Skills / Knowledge required:
Candidates must have undertaken at least 75 hours of coaching to ensure they have a good level of understanding with regards to the expectations of their experience. They will need to have access to a client network as they will need to be supervising 3 or 4 coaches to achieve the number of supervision hours required for the assignments. Bookings from Coaching Pool organisations will be given priority but these places must be approved by the appropriate Coaching Champion
