Improvement & Efficiency funding for Councils confirmed by Communities Department

Funds to support Councils to pursue improvement and efficiency measures have been confirmed today (24 July 2010).

In a letter from the Communities and Local Government Department Ministers have agreed to re-confirm the decision made to pay the £67.5m total core funding to Regional Improvement and Efficiency Partnerships (RIEPs) in full.
 
In the South West this represents confirmation of £7.66 million of funding to help local authorities deliver services more effectively, at a lower cost.
Local Authority Chief Executives will be meeting on 23 July 2010 to agree the priorities for the remaining funding.
